POST-GAME
Dusko Ivanovic, BC Khimki head coach:
“It was a very tough game. When we were preparing for it we realized that Ulm has been an excellent team in transition. I think this is the best team in transition that we’ve played this season so far. Zaytsev’s pressure the ball and the activity of Rowland in the last quarter was the key for this game. Also Shved played very intelligent; other players put one hundred percent for this win. It was a very important game for us”.
E.J. Rowland, BC Khimki guard:
“Ulm is a dangerous team that is desperate for a win. We knew they gonna play well at their home court and you see how quickly they can score. Every time we were up by seven, it took one minute and it was tied up; then they took a lead. We knew we had to play all forty minutes and we stepped it up staying in the game till the end. In the end I just wanted to come in and luckily I got rhythm when I came in late. I helped the team however I could. We have to keep working and playing hard. It’s not always gonna be perfect but as long as you play hard you can make up from mistakes”.
Robbie Hummel, BC Khimki forward:
“The key tonight was our defense. At the end of the game we got the stops we wanted. Then E.J. Rowland kind of took over and hit some big shots. Compared to the game in Munich last week, this was a step in the right direction”.
