BC Khimki proved its case in FIBA12 january 2008
The FIBA’s Committee of Appeal returned a verdict on illegal transfer of BC Khimki player Pavel Gromyko to Crvena Zvezda. According to decree of FIBA based on the signature expertise the contract of Gromyko with one of the leader of Serbia is invalid. The player has valid contract with BC Khimki.
On the 12th of October FIBA-EUROPE made a decision, according to which the player PAVEL GROMYKO was allowed to play in Serbia because of his being allegedly free from any contractual obligations in Russia. The decision is based on the fact that FIBA-EUROPE compared the player’s signature in the contract with BC Khimki with his signature in some other document and found the former invalid. Russian Basketball Federation and BC Khimki expressed its disagreement with this decision and therefore decided to appeal.
The signature was expertized on 13th of December in Munich. The professional conclusion was: the signature of Gromyko in the contract with BC Khimki is valid. So, The Committee of Appeal recognized the right of BC Khimki.
Now BC Khimki owns Pavel Gromyko. And his contract with Crvena Zvezda is invalid.
