Oleg Meleschenko will assist Kestutis Kemzura18 july 2008
The well-known former guard Oleg Meleschenko returned to the BC Khimki coach’s staff. Last season he started as a head coach of “Lokomotiv” Rostov and then he became a scout of BC Khimki. Next season he will be an assistant of head coach Kestutis Kemzura.
— I am very happy to work in BC Khimki, in which I feel myself at home – said Meleschenko. – It is very pleasantly for me being a part of professional collective, who has only exalted aims.

As a player he was popular at the end of 80’es and nineties. His career began in SKA (Alma-Ata) headed by Oleg Kim. Then he became a playmaker of National team of USSR, earned silver medal of World Championship 1990.
Teams played: Samara, CSK VVS (Samara), Lokomotiv (Mineralnye Vody), Arsenal (Tula) and the club from Prievidza (Slovakia). The champion of Czechoslovakia, twice champion of Slovakia. Last season as a player he played in BC Khimki (2001-02).
As a coach he debuted in 2005-06 in Dynamo Saint-Petersburg. Then he became an assistant of Kestutis Kemzura in BC Khimki. The first part of season 2007-08 he headed the team “Lokoimotiv” Rostov. And then he returned to the coach’s staff of BC Khimki.
