BC Khimki has signed a contract with a Russian center, ex-CSKA Moscow and UNICS Kazan player Dmitry Sokolov. The contract was agreed till the end of this season.
Pavel Astakhov, BC Khimki General Manager:
"We are happy to welcome Dmitry Sokolov to our club. He plays at the fifth position, a rare one among Russian players. Moreover he has great experience of playing at a high level. Due to the fact that Ruslan Pateev is out of an eye injury for a long time, we needed to strengthen this position. We hope that Dmitry will easily join the team, and our cooperation will be successful".
Dmitry Sokolov, BC Khimki center:
"Everything happened quickly and unexpectedly. My thoughts have been linked with the Krasny Oktyabr team, but when BC Khimki made an official offer I didn't think a lot actually. For me it is an opportunity to return to a high level as BC Khimki is a top club of the Euroleague. I will do all my best to be useful to the team".
