BC Khimki has signed a contract with a Spanish national team player, ex-Portland Trail Blazers forward Victor Claver. The contract was agreed to the end of this season.
Pavel Astakhov, BC Khimki General Manager:
— Our coaching staff knows well the possibilities of Victor Claver. He is a Spanish national team player who spent three last seasons in NBA. I'm sure our cooperation will be successful and together we'll achieve our high goals.
Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:
— We wanted to close this position with Joffrey Lauvergne but it went wrong as Lauvergne didn't fit in the style of our club. Claver plays at the three and four positions and we wanted the very player. In the middle of the season top teams become stronger. So we also have high goals and need to strengthen our roster. I'm happy that Claver is the very player who signed with our team.
