Keith Langford led BC Khimki Moscow Region to a dramatic 93-89 overtime victory over Zalgiris in his final Turkish Airlines Euroleague game of the season to earn the Sportingbet MVP honor for Week 10.
Not only did he send the game to overtime with a buzzer-beating three-pointer, but Langford also racked up the best individual performance in the Euroleague this season with career highs of 35 points, 8 rebounds and a 42 performance index rating. Langford made 7 of 15 two-pointers, 4 of 7 triples and 9 of 15 free throws, adding 4 assists, 2 steals and 15 fouls drawn. He played over 43 minutes – another career best – and carried Khimki at times with 9 fourth-quarter points and 6 in overtime. Sofoklis Schortsanitis of Maccabi Electra led his team to a road win against Asseco Prokom with 23 points on 8-of-10 two-point shooting and 7 of 8 free throws, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 9 fouls drawn for a career-high 38 index. In any other previous week, Schortsanitis would have been MVP, since his index rating is the second-best only to Langford for the entire season. Bojan Bogdanovic of Cibona had 28 points on 10 of 11 free throws, 9 rebounds and 2 assists to amass a 34 index. Kevinn Pinkney of Union Olimpija (index 32) and Khalid El-Amin of Lietuvos Rytas (27) complete the best individual performances of Week 10.
Individual highs: Emir Preldzic of Fenerbahce Ulker, 11 assists
Langford was the week's top scorer with 35 points. His great scoring night made him the regular season’s top scorer overall at the end of the regular season with 18.7 points per game. D'or Fischer of Real Madrid, Paulius Jankunas of Zalgiris and Milenko Tepic of Panathinaikos each had 11 rebounds in Week 10, more than any other players. Jankunas finished as the phase's best rebounder at 7.8 per night, while Fischer was the No. 1 offensive rebounder with 3.4 per outing. Emir Preldzic of Fenerbahce Ulker dished a career-best 11 assists in his team's home win over Cholet. The regular season assists champ was Marcelinho Huertas of Caja Laboral with 5.8 per night. Ksistof Lavrinovic of Montepaschi Siena collected 5 steals to lead the weekly standings in that category. Chuck Eidson of Maccabi Electra (3.1 spg.) ranked first overall in the regular season. Nathan Jawai of Partizan mt:s blocked 4 shots against Caja Laboral this week. Mirza Begic of Zalgiris was the regular season’s best shot-blocker at 2.3 per night. Four players – Fischer (12 points, 11 rebounds), Preldzic (11 points, 11 assists), James Gist (11 points, 10 rebounds) of Partizan and Kostas Kaimakoglou (12 points, 10 rebounds) of Panathinaikos – all registered respective double-double in the final game of the 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season.
