American Keith Langford (193-G/F-83) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Khimky, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (35 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Zalgiris (5-5) in overtime 93-89. However, Khimky failed to reach the next stage finishing the regular season as No.5 in Group A with 4-6 record. In the team's last game Langford had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It's his second year at Khimky and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former University of Kansas star has very solid stats this year. Langford is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.8ppg) and averages impressive 57.9% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Greek Sofoklis Schortsanitis (206-C-85) of Maccabi T-A. Schortsanitis had a very good evening with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Maccabi T-A cruised to a 83-72 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Asseco Prokom (#6, 2-8). Maccabi T-A ended regular season as No.1 of Group A with almost perfect 9-1 record. Schortsanitis is a newcomer at Maccabi T-A, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Bojan Bogdanovic (202-G/F-89) of KK Cibona VIP Zagreb (#6). Bogdanovic scored 28 points and passed four assists. Despite Bogdanovic's great performance Cibona lost 77-94 to higher-ranked Lietuvos Rytas (#4, 4-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Cibona finished this season with poor 0-10. Too bad for Bogdanovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Bogdanovic has individually a great season in Euroleague. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (best scorer).
