Spartak wins the Russian 2010/2011 Cup after the Final clash versus Nizhniy Novgorod. Spartak easily reached the trophy beating the opponents 80:53.
Spartak opened the game with 16-14 and added 23-14 in the second frame. Spartak proved their superiority in the second half as well and did not slow down at all. They won the third period 23-12 and finished the game with 18-13. Petar Popovic (211-C-79) stepped up with 14 points and Pero Antic (210-F-82, agency: Interperformances) followed him with 13. Artem Yakovenko (206-F-88) replied with 19 points in the losing effort.
In the game for the third place Enisey overcame Lokomotiv Kuban 78:73. The home side was led by Dragan Labovic (207-C/F-87, agency: Alti Sport) who netted 19 points, while Chalmers scored 12 points in the losing case.
Pero Antic was named MVP of the Cup. Dmitry Kulagin (195-G-92) was mentioned as the best guard, Andrei Komarovskiy (196-G-85) as a Shooting Guard, Nikola Dragovic (206-F-87, college: UCLA) received Small Forward award and Dragan Labovic Power Forward. The Best Center was named Artem Yakovenko from Nizhniy Novgorod.
