Today in Moscow at the «Ritz Carlton» Hotel a meeting of the Board of VTB United League was held. The main issues on the agenda were the following changes to the existing Statutes: the abolition of the post of chairman and the establishment of the post of the president of the League. By Members of the Board (we will remind that this governing body consists of representatives of clubs, the national basketball federations of the participating countries, as well as the title sponsor of the tournament – VTB bank), the President of VTB United League was elected vice Premier Minister of the government Sergey Ivanov.
— Thanks to Council of the League for trust and election me as President, — said Sergey Ivanov at the press conference that was held after the meeting of the Council of the League. — Due to my busyness I can not promise that I will deal with all daily affairs of the League, but in a serious strategic development issues, of course, I will take part. I was standing at the origins of VTB United League and I am very pleased with the dynamics that we are developing. For three years the league already achieved much — successes are obvious. We will continue to work in the same, right direction.
