Lokomotiv advanced to EuroChallenge Semifinals sweeping the series over BCM Gravelines Dunkerque. The Russian side won at home 86:68 to win the series 2-0.
Ben Woodside (180-G-85, agency: Priority Sports, college: N.Dakota St.) and Lionel Chalmers (184-G-80, college: Xavier) exchanged the early baskets, while Michael Wilkinson (204-F-81, agency: Interperformances, college: Wisconsin) gave the hosts 12:9. After an overtime thriller in France the Russian team just needed to win the game in order to taste the Final Four appearance. Lionel Chalmers gave them 26:14 to close the first period. The hosts did not even think of slowing down and played also better in the second frame. After 20-18 in it the board showed 46:32 when the teams disappeared in the lockers. Shukhovtsov scored for 48:32 and Michael Wilkinson as well as Alando Tucker (198-F-84, college: Wisconsin) added four for 69:41. Already after the thirty minutes it became clear about the winner.Surovtsev made it 71:48 and the last quarter became just a warm-up. BCM Gravelines Dunkerque however managed to win the last frame 20-15 to reduce the gap to 18 points.
Jeremiah Massey (202-F-82, college: Kansas St.) top-scored for the winners with 18 points, while Michael Wilkinson nailed 17. Alando Tucker netted 16 and Lionel Chalmers delivered 11. Ben Woodside answered with 20 points in the losing case, Johnson added 13 and Jonathan Rousselle (188-G-90) had 11.
