Belgian squad Spirou Basket Charleroi announced the additions of forwards Derrick Allen and Mike Scott, the former to a two-year deal and the latter to a one-plus-one contract.
Allen (2.03 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Alba Berlin, where last season he averaged 10.0 points and 4.2 rebounds in 12 Eurocup games. He played college ball from 1998 to 2003 and then moved to Iceland to start his pro career. However, in 2004 he landed in Germany, where he remained until this summer. He was in Karlsruhe from 2004 to 2006, and then joined Leverkusen for one season. In 2007 he moved to Frankfurt to play with the Skyliners for there seasons before landing in Berlin to play for Alba in 2010. Scott (2.03 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Radnicki Kragujevac of Serbia, where last season he averaged 14.4 points and 6.7 rebounds in the Serbian League and 17.5 points and 6.6 rebounds in the Adriatic League. He played college ball in Kent St. from 2004 to 2008 and his pro career started in Turkey with Trabzonspor. He played in Hungary and Germany before joining Radnicki in october of 2011.
