Montepaschi Siena announces Rochestie, Hunter
In a press conference held Monday in Siena, Montepaschi announced the addition of Taylor Rochestie and Othello Hunter for the next season. Rochestie (1.85 meters, 28 years old) is a point guard arriving from Angelico Biella of the Italian League, where last season he averaged 13.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 16 games.
He had started the season with Laboral Kutxa of Spain, and played 4 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games, averaging 1.5 points and 1.0 steals. He is a globetrotter that has also played in France, Germany and Turkey.
Another new face in Siena will be power forward Othello Hunter (2.03 meters, 27 years old), who arrives from Blancos de Rueda Valladolid of the Spanish League, where in 19 games he averaged 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds (2nd overall). After his team ended the season, in May he moved to China to play with Jiangsu Tongxi where he averaged 23.8 points (4th overall) and 13.9 rebounds (4th overall) in 13 games. He played college ball until 2008 and played a few games with several NBA teams before moving to Greece and then Italy.
