PBL Board session 26 february 2013

On Monday, February 25, 2013 in the press-centre of Triumph Palace of Sports the Professional Basketball League Board session was held. It was attended by the leaders of PBL and VTB United League, as well as the representatives of the PBL clubs. The central matter of the meeting was the re-election of PBL General Director in view of mr. Astakhov's leaving for BC Khimki in the end of January, 2013. By a majority vote mr. Andrey Shirokov was elected as a new PBL General Director.
After his assignment mr. Shirokov gave short comments for PBL official web-site.
Andrey Shirokov, PBL General Director:
— In essence, VTB United League and Professional Basketball League are not different organizations but a unite one. Two leagues work together for a long time so it's not a surprise for such a decision. Regardless of my duties, I take this assignment as a huge trust from Russian clubs, like a certain advance that should be worked for. For sure, I will try to work here with all responsibility.
