VTB United League club VEF (Latvia) has defended its title in the Latvian league. Riga took down Ventspils, 4-1, in the Latvian playoffs finals.
VEF lost Game 1 at home, 84-66, but took Game 2 on the road, 69-42, to kick off a four-game winning streak and seal the title: 74-72 (home), 78-69 (road), 100-81 (home).
VEF has won the Latvian league for the third consecutive year. Forward Will Daniels scored a series-high 50 points over the five games.
