A familiar face is back in Ljubljana, as Union Olimpija announced a one-year agreement with veteran forward Dragisa Drobnjak on Thursday. Drobnjak (2.00 meters, 35 years old) arrives from Telenet Ostend, where he averaged 9.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 6 Eurocup games last season. In his three years with Ostend, Drobnjak helped his team to win consecutive Belgian League titles and lift the Belgian Cup trophy in 2010 and 2013.
Drobnjak returns to Olimpija, where he played from 2004 and 2006, helping it to win back-to-back Slovenian League and Slovenian Cup titles. He has also played for Krka Novo Mesto, Triglav Kranj and Gepolin Slovan in his native Slovenia, Turow Zgorzelec in Poland, Alba Berlin in Germany and Martos Napoli in Italy. He helped Krka to win three Slovenian League titles in 2000, 2003 and 2011, lift the EuroChallenge trophy in 2011 and make it to the ULEB Cup finals in 2003. Drobnjak has also been a member of the Slovenian national team.
