CAI Zaragoza lands Viktor Sanikidze 20 september 2013

CAI Zaragoza (Liga Endesa) tabbed 27-year old Georgian international forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-88kg-86). He played most recently at Montepaschi in Italian SerieA. In 48 games he averaged 5.5ppg and 4.8rpg last season. He helped them to win the league title and they also played in the supercup final. Sanikidze also played 24 games in Euroleague where he had 5.7ppg and 5.1rpg.
The previous (11-12) season he played at Granarolo Bologna (SerieA) in Italy. In 33 games he had 11.7ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg that season. He can count that year as a very successful as was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Forward of the Year, selected to 1st Team and selected to All-Bosmans Team.
In 2004 Sanikidze was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in second round (42nd overall).
He has been also a member of Georgian international program for some years. Sanikidze has regularly played for Georgian senior team since 2004 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2006. He represented Georgia at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 7 games: 13.6ppg, Reb-5 (9.1rpg), 2.0apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 57.4%, 3PT: 30.4%, FT: 70.6%.
Sanikidze is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (JDA Dijon), Spain (Asefa Estudiantes), Estonia (TU/Rock) and Georgia (BBall Academy).
