Grissin Bon Reggio Emili announced the extension with small forward Ojars Silnis, who had contract for the next season but now is signed until the summer of 2016.
Silins (2.00 meters, 21 years old) is a Latvian native who has spent the past six years with Reggio Emilia. Last season he helped the team reach the Italian League playoffs with 7.3 points and 2.4 rebounds, while posting 6.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks on the way to the Eurochallenge title. "The renewal of Silins is another sign of our willingness to continue our path of growth”, said Sports Director Alessandro Frosini. “After two seasons, first in which tasted the floor of Seria A, followed by a good second year as a forward on the wing, Ojars is now ready to face the important challenge at a high level in the role of small forward, where he can express all his talent.”
