Jeremy Pargo moved to Maccabi Tel-Aviv 27  july  2014

PBC CSKA
The deal to move Jeremy Pargo to Maccabi Tel-Aviv is finalized by both clubs and the player.
American point guard joined our team last summer after moving across the Atlantic from Cleveland as a free agent. He played great against NBA teams having scored 11 points along with 6 assists against Minnesota and 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists against San Antonio. Still in the official games he had to play supporting roles more. His 2013-14 season averages – 5.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals in 53 games.

We thank Jeremy for professionalism, friendly nature and wish him to become a real leader in Maccabi.

Natalia Furaeva, CSKA Moscow Vice President:
First of all, I’d like to thank Jeremy. Leaving aside reasoning about his basketball pluses and minuses I have to say that Pargo showed himself as true pro and teammate. Being the player with established identity in Europe and the NBA he was always working hard and staying positive with no respect to the role he had to play on the team. Second, I’d note that the situation around Pargo’s move has become a perfect illustration of what’s going on around CSKA and other big clubs every offseason. Multiple sources specialized on finding the transfer news are often running ahead of train and sometimes even turn the rumors into facts, and the fans are puzzled by not hearing the information from us. Usually the players’ representatives or tabloids who want to be first in reporting the news stay behind this situation. We consider it unprofessional to report on the transfer before finalizing all formalities. The situation with Maccabi who published the news about signing contract with Jeremy at the moment when we were far from agreement with the player’s agents has become a perfect example. And the club from Tel-Aviv had to issue the apologies. I’d like to note again that it’s CSKA policy to respect our partners and fans by publishing verified information only.
