Shved scores more than half of Khimki’s points in win over CSKA
Alexey Shved went absolutely off for Khimki Moscow.
Alexey Shved scored 37 points (10/31 f.g.), including the go-ahead triple with 38 seconds left in overtime, leading Khimki Moscow to a 73 – 72 victory over CSKA Moscow in the VTB League Game of the Week.
With the two teams tied 69 – 69 in the extra period, Shved drained the 3-pointer to put his team up 72 – 69. Joel Bolomboy made a pair of free throws but when he visited the line with the score 73 – 71, he went 1/2 and lost the chance to force a second overtime.
Will Clyburn posted a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds for CSKA while Sergio Rodriguez scored 15 points, dished out six assists but also committed seven turnovers. Kyle Hines added 12 points and five rebounds.
Stefan Markovic finished with 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Khimki that improved to 13 – 5 with this win and climbed to the fourth spot in the table. CSKA dropped to 17-3 but remains the VTB standings leader.
