By the idea of organizers of the game – FIBA Europe – such matches should become traditional and pass one time in two years on the eve of European Championship. All star game was traditional event in Europe right up to 1999, when ULEB and FIBA came to the disagreement. Now FIBA Europe tries to revive the tradition.
