BC Khimki leaders and coaching staff decided to sign a new contract with French basketball player Mickael Gelabale. An agreement is intended to the end of the 2011/2012 season.
Victor Bychkov, BC Khimki General Manager:
— Our team needs strengthening, and we would very much like to see in the club Mickael Gelabale. As we announced earlier, the results of his medical examination in December, were unsatisfactory. But we did not lose a contact with the player, and continued to consult with doctors. Since that time, Mickael has participated in several additional surveys and a number of procedures. Based on new data, we still found it possible to invite Mickael to the team. However, before signing an agreement several changes had been made.
