PRE-GAME QUOTES

Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:

"It doesn’t matter where you play with such a team as CSKA. Now they are playing at home and are supposed to be a favorite, but it’s not the main factor in this matchup. Many things will depend on our concentration and us. We have to restrain their total pressure during all 40 minutes, not 35 or less. CSKA plays equally well at home or on the road and we have to adjust to this level. If we want to win, we have to play a one-hundred-or-more percent from our strength. Our group is very tough and every team may beat each other even on the road. However, CSKA lost twice whereas we were beaten three times so the difference is not so huge. We have had couple of tough games so far where we lost control and discipline in the very end and made some wrong decisions in crucial moments. So now it’s extremely important to make the right decisions in tough situations, especially against CSKA. I can say we have to use the tactics of German football players from the mid-1970s and 1980s, as they played disciplined, focused, and waited for an opponent’s mistake to score a single goal. CSKA also has bad moments and we have to use it to score some points".

Paul Davis, BC Khimki center:

"We know each other very well and there is almost no need for scouting. In this kind of games, we need to stay focused all 40 minutes and play as hard as we can. We have a pretty good situation after the first leg and now we have to win some games on the road. It starts on Thursday. A team like CSKA always puts the pressure so we can’t let two, three or five bad minutes to go in the game like this. If it happens they're gonna get a lead and then keep it. We can’t let them go on runs like 10-0 or more as we have to play all 40 minutes and not have two or three minutes when we turn the ball over or don’t score. We have a one focus on trying to win it and start the second round of good so it will be doesn’t matter where we play now. We’ll be ready".
