Ratiopharm Ulm added more fire power to its roster by inking sharp shooter Adam Hess to a two-year deal, the club announced Thursday. Hess (2.01 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Phoenix Hagen, where he averaged 11.3 points on 40.1% three-point shooting and 4.9 rebounds in 37 German League games last season.
He has also played for CEZ Basketball Nymburk in the Czech Republic, Artland Dragons Quakenbrueck in Germany, CB Tarragona in Spain and Chorale Roanne in France. He helped Nymburk to win consecutive Czech League titles in 2005 and 2006 and also reached the German League and the German Cup finals with Quakenbrueck in 2007. His last Eurocup experience came in the 2008-09 season, playing for Quakenbrueck. Hess averaged 13.9 points in 12 games and helped his team to reach the Last 16. "Coach Leibenath knows my skills and knows that I can adjust quickly into this team," Hess said. Both Hess and coach Leibenath worked together in Quakenbrueck for several seasons. "It will be great to work in such a basketball crazy city like Ulm — and the chance to play again in the Eurocup is very attractive."
