One of the most reliable perimeter players in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague's recent history switched Greek powerhouses on Saturday, when Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens announced the arrival of small forward Matt Lojeski, who penned a one-year deal with his new club.
Lojeski (1.98 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Green’s arch-rival Olympiacos Piraeus, where he played the last four seasons, helping it reach two EuroLeague Championship Games in 2015 and 2017. He averaged 9.9 points on 42% three-point shooting and 3.1 rebounds in 26 EuroLeague games last season, mostly coming off the bench. Lojeski played 91 EuroLeague games in four seasons with the Reds, accumulating 927 points and 329 rebounds. He also helped Olympiacos win back-to-back Greek League titles in 2015 and 2016, lifting the Intercontinental Cup trophy in 2013. He started his career in Belgian basketball, playing for Generali Okapi Aalstar and Telenet Ostend before joining Olympiacos in 2013. Lojeski helped Ostend win consecutive Belgian League titles in 2012 and 2013, as well as lifting the Belgian Cup trophy twice, in 2010 and 2013. Lojeski also played for the Belgian national team.
