Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz found a new man to handle the team's point guard duties when it announced on Wednesday that experienced playmaker Jayson Granger has been signed to a three-year deal.
Granger (1.89 meters, 27 years old) has spent the past two seasons with Anadolu Efes Istanbul. In a starting role last season, he averaged 9.7 points, 3.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 35 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games. He helped Efes reach Game 5 of the EuroLeague playoffs, one win away from the Final Four, but lost that game to eventual runner-up Olympiacos Piraeus. Granger averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in that series. Granger also played a pair of EuroLeague seasons with Unicaja Malaga from 2013 to 2015. A native of Uruguay, Granger made his professional debut with Estudiantes Madrid as a teenager, and in 2010 made his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with the same club from the Spanish capital. Granger spent a total of seven seasons with Estudiantes before moving to Unicaja, then Efes.
