Shved followed a floater with a jumper but he didn't find any help. Meanwhile, Higgins kept pacing CSKA while Will Clyburn and Hines scored around the basket for a 23-13 lead. A triple by Gill fixed the score at 23-16 after 10 minutes. Hines scored twice down low and Higgins followed a three-pointer with a fast break slam in a 12-2 run that broke the game open, 35-18, early in the second quarter. Rodriguez made free throws and Kurbanov added back-to-back triples but Tyler Honeycutt and Thomas kept Khimki within 43-33 at halftime. Shved took over with a three-point play after the break and a power layup by Gill brought Khimki as close as 43-38. Higgins and Nando De Colo tried to change things for CSKA but Honeycutt and Todorovic kept Khimki within 49-44. Shved stayed on fire with a lay-up-plus-foul and a put-back basket by Honeycutt made CSKA call timeout at 51-49. De Colo, Higgins, Othello Hunter and Clyburn made free throws but three-pointers by Egor Vialtsev and Sergey Monia got Khimki within 57-55 after 30 minutes. Antonov struck from downtown, Higgins hit foul shots and Hunter added a put-back lay-up (CSKA's first two-pointer in more than 18 minutes) for a 64-57 lead. Nothing changed after that moment, as CSKA ran the game clock down and cruised to a big home win.
