Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv brought a familiar face back to its roster in center Alex Tyus, who helped Maccabi win the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague crown in 2014.
Tyus (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul, where he ranked second in the league with 1.5 blocks per game. Tyus also averaged 10 points on 68.6% two-point shooting and 5.2 rebounds in 30 EuroLeague games for Galatasaray. He played for Maccabi from 2013 to 2015, and also won an Israeli League title and lifted two Israeli State Cup trophies in his two seasons with Maccabi. He started his career with Maccabi Ashdod of Israel and also played for Pallacanestro Cantu of Italy and Anadolu Efes Istanbul of Turkey. Tyus ranks seventh in blocked shots on the EuroLeague's career charts with 145 and is sixth in shots rejected per 40 minutes (2.75). In 116 EuroLeague career games, Tyus has accumulated 911 points and 532 rebounds.
