BC Khimki players began their preparations for a new season13 august 2010

Yesterday BC Khimki began preparations for a new season. At the disposal of the coaching staff there are the players that are not involved in games of their national teams. In the absence of the head coach Sergio Scariolo the preparatory process is headed by his assistant Andrija Gavrilovic.

Yesterday we had the first meeting of our team, – BC Khimki assistant coach Andrija Gavrilovic says. – Up to August, 26 we plan to stay in Khimki, then we’ll go to Kazan for a friendly tournament, then we will return home for a week. On September, 7 we will go to the training session in Spain, where we will have a few friendly matches with ACB League clubs. On September, 16 we will return home and begin preparations for the first qualification match of Euroleague, which will be held on September, 21 in Caserta.

The first training was attended by the following players from the main roster: Fedor Dmitriev, Vadim Panin, Alexey Savrasenko, Raul Lopez and Vyacheslav Zaytsev. Other players – Vladimir Agababyan, Alexey and Eugene Karpeko, Valentin Novikov, Vladimir Chichaykin, Vladimir Pichkurov, Benjamin-Pavel Dudu and Sergey Logachev – are the players of BC Khimki-2.
Within the next few days Benjamin Eze and Keith Langford will join them.

It will be recalled that Sergio Scariolo is preparing the National team of Spain to World Cup in Turkey. His assistant Oleg Meleschenko is at the head of Russian youth team in U16 European Championship Men 2010 (Montenegro, Bar). Vitaly Fridzon and Sergey Monya are in the disposition of the National team of Russia, Kresimir Loncar and Zoran Planinić – of the National team of Croatia. Thomas Kelati with his partners is taking part in the Eurobasket-2011 qualifying games.
