On the Friday evening at a Novogorsk Kalina Country restaurant in a warm, home-like atmosphere a solemn evening dedicated to the end of the season 2010/2011 was held.
Summing up, rant about the level of championship and the strength of opponents left behind — the official part of the festivity was minimized. Players, coaches, staff members of the club — or more simply, friends and colleagues — were congratulated on the ending of the season by BC Khimki General Manager
Victor Bychkov and Khimki Urban District Head
Vladimir Strelchenko.
— We are not for the first year together, — said mr. Strelchenko. — It seems that for so long we had a two-storied basketball palace, there were no great players and great success. This season was not easy for the team. But at these difficult moments, I suppose, you feel that you are loved and appreciated in Khimki. Young boys attain to your level. And yet, I would like to thank for the work the coach of the team —
Rimas Kurtinaitis and give him a souvenir...
With these words, mr. Strelchenko presented the Lithuanian professional a gift pen.
To the accompaniment of live music, great snacks and pleasant conversation on free themes, the players began to have photos, sing, dance, tell jokes and just play the fool.
The main instigators of the evening were the Croatian duo
Kresimir Loncar and
Zoran Planinic, joined by a cheery giant fellow
Lazaros Papadopoulos. For example, one of the songs performed by the athletic training coach Alexey Matyunin was accompanied by almost simultaneous... push-ups! The hall roared with delight! Loud applause to the singer and his "backup dancers" did not stop for a long time. As joyful smiles that didn't leave the guests' faces before the end of the evening.
Deserved holidays are ahead!
