Unics and CSKA won the Semi-Finals openers as they enjoyed home victories.
Unics — Khimky 70-59

The game without a history. Unics Kazan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. 26 personal fouls committed by Khimky helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Polish-Swedish center Maciej Lampe (210-85) fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Croatian guard Marko Popovic (185-82, college: S.Idaho JC) chipped in 16 points. International guard Vitaly Fridzon (195-85) produced 15 points and Croatian forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

CSKA — Lokomotiv 77-71

The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. CSKA Moscow players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Lokomotiv was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Viktor Khryapa (204-82) who helped to win the game recording 8 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. The former international guard J.R. Holden (185-76, college: Bucknell) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American guard Lionel Chalmers (184-80, college: Xavier) answered with 18 points and 6 assists and American-FYR Macedonian forward Michael Wilkinson (204-81, college: Wisconsin, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lokomotiv. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
