CSKA Moscow started to build its roster for the upcoming 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague season by inking point guard Jeremy Pargo to a two-year deal, the club announced Tuesday.
Pargo (1.88 meters, 27 years old) played for two NBA teams in 2012-13, averaging 7.8 points and 2.6 assists in 25 games with Cleveland before joining Philadelphia. Pargo averaged 4.9 points and 2 assists in 14 games with the 76ers. He has previously Euroleague experience as Pargo reached the final with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv in 2010-11, averaging 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 22 games. Pargo has also played for Memphis in the NBA and Altshuler Saham Galil Gilboa in Israel since finishing his four-year college career at Gonzaga University. He helped Maccabi to win the Israeli double — league and cup titles — in 2011 and previously lifted another Israeli League trophy with Galil in 2010.
"We are very pleased to welcome Jeremy to our team. He has shown a lot of character and talent in Europe and the United States over the last few years," CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. "It will definitely help us with his toughness, leadership skills and the ability to play the pick-and-roll. I am sure that it will be a good addition for us."
