Khimki dismisses Coach Kurtinaitis 15  january  2021

Khimki Moscow Region announced that it has come to an agreement with Coach Rimas Kurtinaitis on the termination of his contract.
Khimki lost its 12th straight game on Thursday against Anadolu Efes Istanbul and is last in the standings with a 2-18 record. Kurtinaitis, 60, is one of the most accomplished coaches in club history. He has spent parts of eight seasons with the club, including five in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague during which Kurtinaitis has led the club to a 40-58 record. In his first stint with the club, from 2011 to 2016, Kurtinaitis led Khimki to 7DAYS EuroCup titles in 2012 and 2015. He also won the VTB United League with Khimki in 2011. Kurtinaitis is the only coach to win the EuroCup three times; he previously lifted the trophy with Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius in 2009. He started his second stint with Khimki in January 2019. Khimki also announced that Andrey Maltsev steps in as interim head coach.
