Kestutis Kemzura: We are not lucky only about the weather 4 september 2008

BC Khimki started the training preseason session in Palanga, Lithuania. At this stage of preparation the team attends to “physical”. The weather on the Baltic Sea coast does not make our team glad, but this fact doesn’t disturb our preparation. The head coach Kestutis Kemzura told about the training session:

— Our guys are concentrated, work hard. I have no pretence. Our morning practices attend only to physical exercises. It is our main task in Palanga. Guys headed by Bram Swinen run and work with different athletic implements.

In evening we work on the court. We started to play “five to five”. But it is too early to talk about our basketball form. We are satisfied with the conditions. We had bad luck with weather, but we foresaw it and the practices on the open air we replace by the practices on the playground.

We had some difficulties with Ponkrashov, who missed some practices because of illness. We had lack of playmakers. Milt Palacio stays in Khimki because of problems with documents and works out on his own headed by Akeksey Vadeev.

Many teams from Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine plan to hold ther training sessions in Palanga. Will your team play some test matches?
— Last year we didn’t play matches on the first camp. We don’t want to speed up the preparation. I don’t think that matches now can show something important. Some players are out of club. Our Olympic participants will join team before the second camp.
