PBL Championship schedule approved 3 september 2010

At yesterday's PBL clubs leaders meeting first league championship schedule was approved. BC Khimki will play its first game in Krasnoyarsk on October, 12 with BC Enisey.

The first round – Regular Championship – will start on October 9, 2010: Dynamo Moscow and PBC CSKA will meet. Five games will finish it on May 19, 2011.

Regular Championship will take place in three laps. The first and the second rounds the clubs will play on the system “each with each” – one game at home and away, spending a total of 18 meetings. The third round will be held also on the itinerant system according to the results of the draw. Thus, each team will have nine games in regular Championship.

As a result of regular Championship eight strongest teams that will go in the second stage of the tournament – PBL Championship play-off – will be determined. Clubs, ranked ninth and tenth in regular Championship, are respectively ninth and tenth in the final classification of PBL Championship.

Playoffs will be held from May, 23 to June, 18. The first regular Championship team will meet with the eights one. The second team is to meet with the seventh one, the third with the sixth, and the fourth with the fifth, respectively.

Quarterfinal games will last up to two victories on the circuit 1+1+1, where the first and (if necessary) the third games will be held at the pitches of the teams, ranked higher places in the first stage. Dates: May, 23, 26 and 28.

Semifinal games will be held a series of three victories on the circuit 2+2+1, where first two games and the fifth one (if necessary) will be played at the pitches of the teams, ranked higher places in the first stage. Dates: May, 31 – June, 1, June, 4 – 5, and June, 7.

Semifinal games for 5-8 places will be held a series of two victories on the circuit 1+1+1, where the first and the third games (if necessary) will be played at the pitches of the teams, ranked higher places in the first stage. Dates: June, 1, 4 and 7.

Final meetings for the first and the third places will be held up to three victories on the circuit 2+2+1, where first two games and the fifth one (if necessary) will be played at the pitches of the teams, ranked higher places in the first stage. Dates:

– June, 11-12, 15-16 and 18 – for the I-th place;

– June, 10-11, 14-15 and 17 – for the III-rd place.

Games for the fifth and the seventh places will be held a series of two victories on the circuit 1+1+1, where the first and (if necessary) the third games will be played at the pitches of the teams, ranked higher places in the first stage. Dates: June, 11, 14 and 17.
