Slava Zaytsev is back to KhimkI! 1 july 2016

BC Khimki is glad to announce that Russian guard Vyacheslav Zaytsev (26) is back to our club. The agreement between the club and the player has been approved for season 2016/2017 (one year) with the option to extend for season 2017/18. We welcome Slava to our club!

Pavel Astakhov, BC Khimki General Manager:

"Vyacheslav is a player who has passed all stages of professional preparation in our club, starting with youth teams. Unfortunately, he was unable to secure his spot in the first team, and he chose the path of improvement in other clubs. Now he returns to his native team. Along with that, Slava is still young, but already quite a mature player. I hope that in Khimki he will realize his big potential".

Dusko Ivanovic, BC Khimki head coach:

"Slava is a young guy and I like the way he plays. He can perform at positions one and two and maybe three. He plays in defense with energy. Moreover I like the situation where in club there are three point guards. That is the reason why we signed with Zaytsev. Slava is athletic guy who can play strong defense, play transition and pressure the ball. Every time he goes to the court I will expect from him to change the game rhythm with hight pressure and more transition plays".

Vyacheslav Zaytsev, BC Khimki forward:

"When I received the invitation to return to Khimki, I immediately agreed. I have already played in Khimki and I know all the club structure. This is a very good team with big ambitions and I am very happy to be back in the Moscow Region. I will follow the coach's instructions and do everything possible to make my team win. Last season in Krasny Oktyabr was one of the best in career, I played a lot, and the coach trusted me. I think that everything was fine, but I need to move on. We will try to achieve the club goals and will fight to the maximum in all the tournaments".
