Lokomotiv Kuban hands on to Zubkov
Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar re-signed one of its most promising young players, Andrey Zubkov, on his birthday to a new three-year deal over the weekend. Zubkov (23 years old, 2.05 meters), played 21 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season with Loko averaging 3.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in 8 minutes per appearance. He had his best game against CSKA Moscow in January with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Zubkov grew up as a player in Loko and has always played there. He started in 2009-10 with the second team and was promoted in 2011-12, on his way to winning the Eurocup title in 2013. He was also a member of the Russian U20 national team.
