EYBL-96. In Khimki the first stage starts25 october 2010
From October 26 to 28 the games of the first round of EYBL Championship U-15 will be held in the basketball center Khimki, Moscow Region. In the starting day of the tournament one match will be held – BC Khimki will play with T. Sokk BS (Tallinn, Estonia).
Eight teams will participate in the tournament: from Ukraine – BC Kraina Basketbolia (Cherkassy) and SDJSOR nr.2/Khimik (Odessa), from Estonia – T. Sokk BS (Tallinn) and KK Viimsi (Viimsi), from Lithuania – S. Marciulionis BA (Vilnius) and BS Vilnius — Krantechna (Vilnius), from Russia – BC Metall Profil (Lobnya, Moscow Region) and BC Khimki (Moscow Region).
– As always, in the group stage we have set ourselves the following task – after three rounds to reach the final, – the head coach of our team Vladimir Pisarev said. – The main favourites of this age are the participants of the last year final stage – S. Marciulionis BA and SDJSOR nr.2/Khimik. In the end the Lithuanians won bronze medals, the Ukrainians took the fifth place. We finished in the seventh place, and now our goal is to be among the top three.
In the offseason our roster has been renewed by one third, but we have had a fruitful training: we had won the tournament in Minsk and were better in the game with SDJSOR Timiryazevskaya. I am satisfied with this stage of work. However, we will be able to evaluate definitely the condition of the team only after the beginning of the official games.
