Enisey Krasnoyarsk announced very important signing for the next season. The Russian outfit inked a one-year deal with American guard Marcus Williams (191-G-85, college: Connecticut).
The 24-year-old player is coming to Krasnoyarsk from the Memphis Grizzlies. He appeared 61 times in the NBA last season averaging 4.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. His season-high in scoring was 17 points against Utah Jazz.
Marcus Williams is a product of the University of Connecticut. He was selected by the New Jersey Nets as 22nd overall pick at the 2006 NBA Draft. In his rookie year Williams collected 6.8 ppg, 2.1 rpg and 3.3 apg for 79 games in regular season. He also appeared 12 times in the Playoffs adding 2.4 ppg and 1.1 apg. Next season his numbers dropped to 5.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg and 2.6 apg, also with the Nets. During the summer 2008, Marcus Williams agreed terms with the Golden State Warriors. However, he played just 9 games for them and left in March of 2009. At the same year he joined Quebradillas Pirates registering 16.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg and 9 apg for 34 games in Puerto Rican BSN. Williams was named Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Import Player of the Year -09. Last summer, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies.
