Nielsen's squad wins ticket to Olympic London 9 september 2011

Today FIBA Oceania 2011 championship game 2 between Australia and New Zealand happened. BC Khimki freshman and Australian squad captain Matt Nielsen helped his team score a confident victory 81-64 and won a ticket to London-2012.

September 9. Brisbane, Australia.

New Zealand — Australia64-81 (15-24, 19-12, 20-17, 10-28)

In the last quarter Australians limited New Zealand to just 10 points for the final term — the bulk of which came after Australia's sensational 21-0 run which secured passage to London in the most emphatic style. Matt Nielsen (in the photo) spent at the court 22 minutes, scored 9 points, made 6 rebounds and 2 steals.

Game 3 is to be held on Sunday, September 11, in Sidney.

On Tuesday, September 13, Nielsen will join BC Khimki in Spain.
