PRE-GAME QUOTES

Dusko Ivanovic, BC Khimki head coach:

“Our second opponent, Fuenlabrada, is a very good team that plays great transition and has excellent shooters. They play in the Spanish League, the best league in Europe. Now they do it at home in a small gym and it will be a lot of pressure on us. However, every game we play for a win. I think the most important thing is to be hard, concentrated and stop their transition. We had a friendly game a month ago but it’s nothing now. They added some new players who didn’t play with us. Now it’s a different team and we expect a serious game. They lost a couple of games in the Spanish League but they had strong opponents. In addition, they lost to ALBA in Berlin. I think this result is normal but now it will be a different story. They are at home and they will have a court feeling. It will be tough for us”.

E.J. Rowland, BC Khimki guard:

“It will be a tough game in a tough atmosphere. Fuenlabrada plays well at home. They have a lot of talent, athleticism and good shooters. It will be a nice test for us. We have to get more details on them but mostly we’ve been working on ourselves because we have a lot of work to do. We need to be in terms what we have to do as a team. We are in a good space right now. We played good enough to win with Lietuvos Rytas that is important at this stage. Of course, we could have done it better. We know it’s a process and we continue. I’m familiar with Carlos Cabezas because he has been in the Spanish League for so long. He is an experienced player. I know Ian O’Leary because he went to my school St Mary in California. Of course, I can say a lot about Marko Popovic who played in Khimki and won the EuroCup here. But first of all we have to focus on what we have to do”.
